While we were on a quest to find some quick and easy snacks to make on Diwali, we stumbled upon this instant chakli recipe on the YouTube food channel ‘Cook with Parul’. In this recipe, she uses daily home ingredients like rice flour, moong dal and some spices to add that extra kick of flavour. And the best part about this recipe is that even if you don’t have the chakli making machine, you can easily make this snack.

Since this recipe is quick to make, you easily make some tea also side by side with it and serve it with the chaklis! Read the recipe below:

To make this snack, first, take moong dal and dry roast it so that it doesn’t stay moist. Then add this to a grinder and make a powder out of it. Now take a bowl and add rice flour, moong dal powder, besan, ajwain, cumin seeds, red chilli powder, salt as per taste, heeng and sesame seeds. Lastly add hot ghee as well. Combine all these well. Also, add some turmeric powder.

Then take some hot water and form a semi-soft dough. Now, if you have a chakli maker, then add the dough to the maker and form chaklis. If you don’t have a chakli maker machine, then take a small part of the dough and give it the shape of chakli from your hands.

Finally, deep fry these chaklis in hot oil till crisp and golden.
