Did Aaron Rodgers retiring just get spoiled by Brandon Marshall?

Aaron Rodgers has yet to make his official decision on retirement or a trade public, but former NFL receiver Brandon Marshall might’ve spoiled the news.

It’s hard to quantify just how many people are waiting on what Aaron Rodgers is going to do. The Green Bay Packers are trying to see how to proceed, teams like the New York Jets, Las Vegas Raiders and probably several others are eyeing the possibility of a trade, and fans are just ready for him to decide something.

Should we have just asked former NFL wide receiver Brandon Marshall, though?

On Tuesday night with Rodgers having recently emerged from his four-day darkness retreat, Marshall posted on Instagram. The message was congratulating the longtime Packers quarterback on a phenomenal career and the caption read “@aaronrodgers12 RETIRES”.

Aaron Rodgers retiring might’ve just been spoiled by Brandon Marshall on IG

With how long this entire process has been drawn out since the end of the Packers’ season in Week 18, if this is how Aaron Rodgers retiring got broken, it would be both endlessly hilarious and infuriating that we waited for the quarterback to say something only for a player who was never on the same team as Rodgers to break the news on social media.

Now, we’ve seen former players, coaches, and the like have moments like this and the news they may or may not be breaking turns out to not be true. Heck, it’s conceivable that Marshall had multiple drafts set up for whatever Rodgers is going to decide and accidentally posted the one that says he’s going to retire.

Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait on Rodgers to give us his decision to have full confirmation on what’s happening. However, retirement has always been on the table and, with decision time coming closer, the alarm bells are sounding after Marshall’s trip to Instagram.
