The hilarious tweet was shared by user Ahmed (@dumyboyfriend). Posted on July 18, it has already received over 103k views and 2.7k likes. In the picture, we could see a daal sample that Ahmed’s mother had sent along with him. It was none other than red masoor daal, which is commonly made in the Indian kitchen. “My mom gave me a sample of the kind of daal she wanted me to get from the store because she didn’t trust me to remember,” he explained in the tweet.

A flurry of reactions and comments poured into the post by the Twitter user. Many of them agreed that even they found the daals and ingredients quite confusing at times. “Even I don’t know which daal it is, and it’s not even my fault they all look the same,” said one user. “When I got married and moved to London I had my mum put samples of all kinds of daal in a ziplock and had them labelled,” agreed another user. Others said that the nomenclature often got confusing. “Why is it called Laal daal when it is clearly Orange,” commented another user.
