Dak Prescott reflects on early pick-six that saw the Cowboys go down early but led to a comeback win

‘I just misjudged his length’: Dak Prescott reflects on early pick-six that saw the Cowboys go down early… but led to a comeback win over the Eagles

Despite the fantastic ending result, Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott began his day against the Philadelphia Eagles by making a careless blunder.

In his first drive of the day for Dallas, the Cowboys lined up on 1st and 10 from their own 47-yard-line for the fifth play of the drive.

Prescott dropped back to pass and threw the ball – only for it to intercepted by Eagles defensive lineman Josh Sweat.

Sweat grabbed the ball out of the air, stiff-armed Prescott to the ground and rumbled 42 yards for the first touchdown of the day.

After the game, Prescott admitted he made a mistake and that it felt like a terrible case of deja vu – leftover from last week’s walkoff interception by the Jacksonville Jaguars.

‘Guess I just misjudged his length. He made a great catch,’ Prescott said.

‘I was chasing him down, like, “Is this happening again? Oh well. Let me get back on the field, let´s get this thing back rolling.”‘

Despite the blunder, Prescott was able to overcome and rallied his team to a victory – tallying 347 yards and three touchdowns in the 40-34 win.

His coach Mike McCarthy praised Prescott and his work ethic – especially in the face of hardships.

‘Adversity is something he eats for lunch,’ McCarthy said. ‘Dak’s the same person every day, in the fire, at practice, in the class. I just think it speaks volumes of his approach.’

With the win, Dallas moves to 11-4 on the season. They take on Tennessee in Nashville next week.
