Cordelia search was managed to selectively trap people: Nawab Malik

KP Gosavi, the Narcotics Control Bureau team’s witness in the Cordelia case, tried to selectively trap people, Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik has alleged. He furnished audio clips and WhatsApp chats to support his allegation.

Malik alleged that Fashion TV executive Kashiff Khan was involved in the drug racket but was being protected by NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede. In the purported WhatsApp conversation, Gosavi asked NCB’s ‘informer’ for pictures of some of the people who would attend the cruise party. Malik said that this showed the Cordelia search was ‘managed’ to ‘trap’ people.

“It is clear from the WhatsApp chats between KP Gosavi and this informer that there was a plan to trap people attending the cruise party. The NCB zonal director has a lot to answer, as Gosavi was a member of his private army,” Malik alleged. Gosavi has been arrested by the police in Pune. He has several cases of cheating lodged against him.

Malik had earlier alleged that Gosavi, along with Wankhede, were involved in trapping a select few in the Cordelia raid and drugs were planted on people detained. Later in the day, Malik posted several audio clips of Gosavi purportedly talking to different people prior to the search.

In another purported chat of Gosavi with another informer, a photo of Kashiff Khan was posted. Malik asked why Kashiff Khan was let off. “The NCB zonal director should answer as to why Kashiff Khan was not detained in the raid,” Malik said. He alleged Wankhede overlooked drug rackets in Goa involving the Russian mafia. “Goa also comes under the zonal director’s jurisdiction,” he said.
