Christian Pulisic sends message to US fans before insisting ‘the job isn’t done’ ahead of Iran clash

USMNT star Christian Pulisic expressed his desire that he and his teammates made the United States ‘proud’ in a thrilling 0-0 draw vs. England on Black Friday, before reminding everyone their journey isn’t complete.

The Chelsea winger thrashed a shot against the crossbar as the United States came close to snatching three points from their old foes. 

While the USA will lament lost opportunities to clinch their first World Cup victory since 2010.

Though their hopes of reaching the knockout stages remain well and truly alive. 

‘A draw’s not the worst thing,’ Pulisic said. ‘But I felt like there were stretches of where we showed confidence and had a lot of the play. 

‘And created chances, and even could have won the game. But all in all, I thought we managed it quite well.”

Pulisic then offered a word for those tuning into the game from across the North Atlantic.

‘Everyone back home watching, I hope we made a lot of people proud,’ he said. “But the job isn’t even close to done, so we’ve got a lot of work left to do.”

The USA’s World Cup fate will be decided Tuesday when they face Iran in a must-win clash. 

Iran only need a point to qualify for the next round, meanwhile only a victory will suffice for Gregg Berhalter’s men. 

It will be the first time the sides have met since at a World Cup since a politically-charged meeting in Lyon at France 1998.
