‘Chhatriwali’ star Sumeet Vyas says growing up, he would feel a sense of guilt associated with sex – Times of India

Sumeet Vyas recently opened up about his latest film, ‘Chhatriwali’, co-starring Rakul Preet Singh. The actor also opened up about attending sex education class as a kid.
In an interview with a news portal, Sumeet spoke about how sex was a forbidden fruit and it did take him a while to come to terms with the fact that it isn’t something that robs one of their chastity. According to him, the more you run away from sex education and feel shy about it, the more it will become a taboo. Growing up, he would feel a sense of guilt associated with sex. It took him a very long time to understand that it’s fine and that he hasn’t done anything unholy. The actor also added that the guilt aspect of it is something that drives people in the wrong direction.

Spilling some beans on his experience of studying sex education back in school, Vyas shared that in the ninth class, they had a ten-minute presentation on sex education where they were asked not to ask questions. Basically, there was no conversation, Sumeet told News18.

He saw the male teacher was very shy, embarrassed and awkward about the situation and so were they because they were very young. The actor added that it would have been nicer if he wasn’t so awkward because the one who’s addressing everyone drives the energy of the room. According to him, even if someone in the class is trying to do some mischief, they would have stopped it beyond a point if their teacher would have been clear and calm about the situation. It would have also helped normalise sex as one of the many things that happen in humankind and we all need to know about it.
