Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi ‘approached by multiple Saudi Arabian clubs’

Callum Hudson-Odoi ‘approached by multiple Saudi Arabian clubs’, as the Middle East nation target ANOTHER Chelsea star after landing N’Golo Kante

Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi is being targeted by multiple clubs in Saudi Arabia, according to reports.

The 22-year-old spent last season on loan at Bayer Leverkusen but is set to return to Stamford Bridge this summer.

He could be set to be moved on again, though, as there is significant interest in the young forward from the Middle East.

Hudson-Odoi has been approached by two Saudi clubs, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

It is currently unclear as to whether Hudson-Odoi would be willing to accept a move to Saudi Arabia as formal talks with the player are yet to take place.

He is the latest Chelsea player to be linked with a switch to Saudi Arabia, after N’Golo Kante completed his move to Al-Ittihad on Tuesday night.

Several fringe players at Chelsea have also been targeted by the Saudi Pro League, with Hakim Ziyech, Kalidou Koulibaly and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang all attracting interest.

The Blues need to offload players this summer to ensure that they adhere to Financial Fair Play rules after spending £600m last term.

Some fans have hit out at the prospect of their cast-offs joining the Saudi Pro League, amid links between the country’s Public Investment Fund and Chelsea’s majority shareholder, Clearlake Capital.

Mail Sport revealed last year that Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund are major investors in Clearlake. PIF also own Newcastle and have control of four leading clubs in Saudi Arabia.

Hudson-Odoi could now have a big decision to make on his future after a disappointing campaign in Germany as he approaches the final year of his Chelsea contract.

He made just 14 Bundesliga appearances in 2022-23 due to a combination of injuries setbacks and loss of form, and failed to find the net for the German outfit.

Hudson-Odoi came through Chelsea’s academy and has played 126 games for the senior team, but may now leave his boyhood club behind if he receives a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia.
