Sex and the City’s Carrie Bradshaw has many defining qualities: shoes, iconic writing phrases, a rent-controlled apartment…But chief among them is a love for returning to old flames. Well, a new set of photos released on Friday show the beloved character walking hand-in-hand with one of her most memorable exes: Aidan Shaw.

Posted on the official social media accounts for HBO Max’s And Just Like That…, the photos suggest a Carrie and Aidan reunion will be at the heart of the upcoming second season. The last time we left Carrie (spoiler alert!!!) she was still reeling from the unexpected death of her husband, Big, and participated in some flimsy, half-hearted dating with a fellow widow. The return of Aidan, played by John Corbett, could mean our hopeless romantic is diving back into the pool headfirst. The actor was confirmed to be returning to the successful franchise back in August.

In the new batch of photos, Aidan wears a belted coat with gold buttons and oversized cargo pockets with plum purple trousers. Either the rugged furniture builder has undergone a Bradshaw-style makeover, or he’s taken up listening to the Throwing Fits podcast. Meanwhile Carrie, played by Sarah Jessica Parker, pulls off her signature knack for clashing-patterns in a hot pink ruffled shawl over a tartan coat and rocking velvet boots. (Boho chic really is back!)

Whether you’re Team Big or Team Aidan, this reunion feels like a welcome return to SATC glory days. The lovebirds have run into each other quite a bit since calling it quits in season four of the original. Who can forget Aidan’s (slightly improbable) pop-up in Abu Dubai for Sex and the City 2?
