After suffering a cardiac arrest on Monday, Bronny James — the eldest son of Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James — is reported to be in stable condition according to a James family spokesperson.

In a statement released on Tuesday, a spokesperson for the James family said: “Yesterday while practicing Bronny James suffered a cardiac arrest. Medical staff was able to treat Bronny and take him to the hospital. He is now in stable condition and no longer in ICU.”

Meanwhile, as James recovers from the attack in the hospital, his family has requested the family’s privacy from fans before they can update them with further details of his health.

“We ask for respect and privacy for the James family and we will update the media when there is more information.” the statement added.

Additionally, James’ parents thanked his fans for their support and concerns while they also showed their gratitude towards the medical and athletic staff at the University of South California that treated their son at the hospital.

“LeBron and Savannah wish to publicly send their deepest thanks and appreciation to the USC medical and athletic staff for their incredible work and dedication to the safety of their athletes,” the statement continued.

Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin, who also experienced a cardiac arrest during a Monday Night Football game last season before resuming his career once again tweeted his support for James.

James, who is 18 years old, is entering his freshman year at USC and is ranked 20th in the 2023 ESPN 100 rankings while being the sixth-rated point guard in the class of 2023, ESPN reported.
