Brighton agree a four-year deal with summer free agent Mahmoud Dahoud

Brighton agree a four-year deal with free agent Mahmoud Dahoud after the midfielder’s exit from Borussia Dortmund – as clubs prepare to launch bids for Moises Caicedo and Alexis Mac Allister

Brighton, who have been fielding offers for Moises Caicedo in recent days, have agreed terms on a four year deal with free agent Mahmoud Dahoud, 27, after the Germany midfielder left Borussia Dortmund.

Three clubs are in for Caicedo who is valued around £80m while Liverpool are trying to tie up a deal for Alexis Mac Allister.

Roberto De Zerbi’s Seagulls are attracting plenty of interest ahead of the summer window following their exceptional Premier League campaign this term, as they finished sixth in the table and secured a Europa League spot last week.

With a handful of important first-team stars in contention to leave the club this summer, Brighton are targeting several additions and have also discussed a potential deal for Livingston goalkeeper Brian Schwake.

The 21-year old was in training at Brighton last week and is out of contract this summer. He would cost a minimal compensation fee of around £250,000.

Meanwhile, Dahoud has made over 140 appearances for Dortmund, although played only 10 games this season after dislocating his shoulder last year.

The Syria-born star joined Dortmund from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2017 in a deal agreed while Thomas Tuchel was still in charge of the German giants.

Dahoud broke into the Germany setup in 2021, earning his first two caps against Turkey and the Czech Republic.

The Seagulls have already lured Watford forward Joao Pedro to the Amex this summer and are on the cusp of signing Liverpool veteran James Milner on a free.
