Blueberry Milk Nails Are Summer’s Most-Wanted Manicure

In need of some inspiration for your next manicure? There’s a new nail trend doing the rounds on TikTok, and people cannot get enough of it this summer. Dubbed “blueberry milk”, this creamy, powdery sheer blue shade—often applied over a beige, pearlescent or white base—flatters every skin tone.

The likes of Sofia Richie and Dua Lipa have been sporting the soft blue on their nails already this summer. “The powdery blue manicure has definitely taken over!” confirms professional nail artist, Julia Diogo, who is among the experts championing this specific shade of blue. “I think it’s so popular at the moment because it stands out, but still looks super chic.”

Unsure which shade is best for your skin tone? “Try Chanel Le Vernis in Muse for pale complexions, due to its cooler tones,” says Diogo. “Bio Sculpture’s Aqua Clouds is ideal for olive tones as it is a soft, powdery blue, and Bio Sculpture’s Eloise for deep skin complexions. Deeper skin tones should also consider opting for Bio Sculpture’s Boogie Blues or Turquoise Teacup, as they are more rich and vibrant in color.”

If you’re doing your blueberry milk manicure yourself rather than heading to the salon, Diogo has this advice for seamless application: “Paint in three strokes—one down, one to the left, and then one to the right.”
