BLACKPINK star Jennie sets the internet on FIRE with her sensual dance moves in ‘The Idol’ – WATCH – Times of India

BLACKPINK band member Jennie officially made her acting debut on last night’s first episode of ‘The Idol‘.
K-Pop fans were pleasantly surprised to see the beauty in a short but impactful role. The singer plays the character of Dyanne, a backup dancer and friend of a struggling artist Jocelyn, played by Lily-Rose Depp.
The makers didn’t waste any time introducing Jennie’s character in the first episode. Besides effortlessly delivering her dialogues, she also features in a couple of enticing dance scenes. Speaking about filming the dance scenes, Jennie said in a statement to hypebae, “I didn’t have a lot of time to learn the choreography for the dance scenes. But thankfully, I do this all the time, so it came naturally to me.”

The dance choreography for the show was drastically different from what BLINKS are used to. The rather sensual moves raised quite a few eyebrows, but nonetheless, left the internet wanting more.

“OMYGOD #JENNIE giving me a heart attack,” a fan tweeted while sharing a clip of the beauty dancing.
Another said, “This is the highlight of the idol show.”
Another said, “She’s so hot oh god. Watch the idol for the plot.”

According to the BLACKPINK star, being on set was “definitely a challenge.” Speaking to WWD, the star said “I’ve never experienced anything like that before. It was like breaking a wall for me.”
She also thanked her co-star Lily-Rose Depp for helping her through the shoot and explaining the scenes to her. She added, “It was very comforting to have her there. She just taught me to express myself and be comfortable with myself, to not be scared.”
Helmed by The Weeknd and Euphoria hitmaker Sam Levinson, the story revolves around a pop star and a cult leader. The show premiered at Cannes but opened to mixed reviews from critics and audiences alike.
