Bizarre Food Alert: Nagpur Man Sells Dahi Kurkure Chaat For Rs 40

What is the first thing that pops up in your mind when we say street food? Dahi chaat will be one of the most common answers. When sweet dahi is mixed with spicy green chutney and you take a bite of crispy aloo tikki or bhalla— the end result is a burst of flavours. The love of chaat is unanimous among foodies, so much so that the culinary world is brimming with its own eccentric recipes. It turns out Nagpur has added a new bizarre combo to that list—Dahi Kurkure Chaat. A clip showing its preparation was shared by an Instagram food page ‘oyehoyeindia’ and it’s now making the rounds on the internet.

In the video, a vendor can be seen spreading a generous amount of kurkure on a plate. Then he adds sweet red chutney on top of it. Next, comes creamy dahi (curd) and spicy green chutney. The vendor sprinkles salt and different masalas on it. Wait, there is more. The man was next seen garnishing it all with sliced onion, and chopped coriander leaves. In a bid to add that extra crunch, he topped it all with aloo bhujia. We can’t guarantee the taste but that colourful plate surely looks worth a try. The caption of the clip revealed that the vendor “Outside Barbate Garden, Lakadganj, Nagpur” is selling this food experiment for Rs. 40. The clip mostly received a positive response in the comments section. Several users dropped a handful of red heart and fire emoticons. There were a few who questioned the price factor of the dish, claiming that they don’t think it is worth more than Rs. 20.
