Bills QB Josh Allen defends teammate Stefon Diggs for missing a day of offseason practice

Buffalo Bills superstar quarterback Josh Allen has spoken on the situation that saw Stefon Diggs miss a day of practice during offseason workouts earlier this summer.

‘I love him. That’s my guy,’ Allen said on a recent appearance on the ‘Bussin’ With The Boys’ podcast. 

‘The media has blown this so far out of proportion. Like we are in rookie camp or minicamp. We’re not playing a game for four months. He doesn’t show up for one day.’

‘He’s still there you know, coach asked him to go home. We were in talks and discussions of trying to resolve some things and it wasn’t anything major.

‘And media blew it up. They’re still talking about it. Let it go. There’s no reason to continue talking about it. He’s on the field with us the next day. It was not a big deal.’

Diggs missed a day of practice during the off-season but returned to the field the next day

Head coach Sean McDermott said he believed the situation was resolved when Diggs returned

Diggs would go on to return to practice the next day and head coach Sean McDermott said he considered the matter resolved.

In recent years Diggs relationship with the team has come under question due to his visibly angry reactions at their inability to perform in the playoffs year-after-year.

He has repeatedly been Buffalo’s star wide out and the primary target for Allen, during his ascension to being considered one of the game’s best signal callers.

Last season, Allen recorded 4,283 passing yards, 35 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions. He also gained 762 yards and seven TDS rushing the ball.

1,429 yards and 11 TDS came directly from throwing to Diggs who also recorded 108 receptions last season.
