Ashley Graham has responded to her excruciating red carpet interview with Hugh Grant, in which the actor rebuffed her questions and appeared to roll his eyes.
Asked what his favourite thing about coming to the Oscars was, Grant replied: “It’s fascinating. The whole of humanity is here. It’s Vanity Fair.”
He appeared to be referring to the 1848 novel by William Makepeace Thackeray, while Graham assumed he was talking about the Oscars after party of the same name.
“Oh it’s all about Vanity Fair, that’s where we let loose,” she responded.
The interview didn’t get any less awkward.
Who was Grant hoping might win? “No one in particular.”
What was he wearing? “My suit.”
And what was it like being in the Oscar-nominated film Glass Onion?
“Well, I’m barely in it,” Grant replied. “I’m in it for about three seconds.”
Grant appeared to shake his head in confusion as he walked away at the end of the interview.
On Monday, Graham was quizzed about the exchange by US publication TMZ.
“You know what, my mama told me to kill people with kindness, so there you go,” she said.

The clip of the interview between Graham and Grant quickly went viral, with many calling his replies “rude” while others said the questions were “lazy”.
Some suggested people criticising Grant didn’t get the British sense of humour.
One Twitter user wrote: “Man makes bone dry, acerbic comments, with references to classical literature, in response to bland questions. Accused of being rude by US voices, and iconic by UK ones.”
Others disagreed – with one writing: “Ashley Graham handled it with grace. His eye roll at the end was obnoxious!”
Among the other memorable moments of the Oscars were Malala Yousafzai being harassed by the cocaine bear, Jenny the donkey from Banshees Of Inisherin winning over the crowd and Michelle Yeoh making history as the first Asian woman to win the best actress award.
