Ashish Vidyarthi reacts to being trolled for marrying Rupali Barua at 57: ‘Are we supposed to die unhappy?’ | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Veteran actor Ashish Vidyarthi recently tied the knot with Rupali Barua in a low-key ceremony. The news took social media by storm and people started trolling Ashish for getting married at the age of 57. Speaking about the trolls, Ashish said that he read many derogatory words like ‘buddha’, ‘khusat’ to name a few.
He then delved deep into the word ‘buddha’ and said that whoever is saying that we are giving that fear to ourselves. He told a news portal that each one of us will become old and we are telling ourselves, ‘hey, listen, don’t do things just because you’re old.’ “So, does that mean you’re supposed to die unhappy? If somebody wants companionship, why should he not?” he asked.
Ashish further said that he did not expect such extreme reactions from people and was shocked because throughout his life he has added value. He said that getting legally married was a personal choice with another person who is also keen to have a family and live with love.

He then went on to question the trolls and said that none of those people who are commenting will come and look after him. He said that everyone has the capacity to do something irrespective of their age and at the end of the day a person has the choice to choose their happiness.
Rupali hails from Guwahati and is an entrepreneur. She is known for her upscale fashion store in Kolkata. Ashish’s first wife Rajoshi Barua aka Piloo Vidyarthi is also from Assam. She is the daughter of the Assamese actress of the yesteryears, Shakuntala Barua.
