Arjun Rampal, who is known for his performances in movies like Rock On!!, Om Shanti Om, Don amongst others, is all set to make his debut in a Telugu film. The actor will play the role of an antagonist in director Anil Ravipudi’s next with Natasimha Nandamuri Balakrishna, who is often referred to as God of the Masses.
Of late, there has been a growing trend of Hindi film actors making their way to work down South – from Amitabh Bachchan to Deepika Padukone to Saif Ali Khan to Nawazuddin Siddiqui, many actors have landed meaty roles in South cinema.
Arjun, who has been part of the Hindi film industry for more than two decades, was earlier supposed to mark his entry into Telugu cinema with Pawan Kalyan’s Hari Hara Veera Mallu but had to eventually step back due to date issues. He has reportedly been replaced by Bobby Deol in the period drama.
Coming back to his magnum opus with Natasimha Nandamuri, to mark the announcement, the makers of the film released a video with Arjun mouthing a famous Telugu dialogue of lead actor Balakrishna. As per reports, Arjun has already reached Hyderabad to begin shooting for the film. Kajal Aggarwal is paired opposite Balakrishna in the same.
This apart, Arjun has already lined up Aparna Sen’s The Rapist, which is currently doing the festival round. On the personal front, he is set to embrace fatherhood again with girlfriend Gabriella Demetriades.
