apple: Apple Watch series may not come these features – Times of India
NEW DELHI: Apple is expected to launch its new Apple Watch 8 series later this year at its annual hardware event. This year also the upcoming Watch series will lack some of the most-awaited features.
According to an online report, the yet-to-launch Apple Watch series will not come with a body temperature feature. Along with this, the Apple Watch series will also lack the blood glucose levels and blood pressure monitors.
According to the weekly Power on newsletter by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple Watch 8 series is expected to lack the body temperature sensing functionality. Along with this, the new Apple Watch series is also said to give a miss to the blood glucose and blood pressure tracking feature.
“Body temperature was on this year’s roadmap, but chatter about it has slowed down recently. Blood pressure is at least two to three years away, while I wouldn’t be surprised if glucose monitoring doesn’t land until later in the second half of the decade,” mentions Gurman in the newsletter.
Along with Gurman, Apple market analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had also revealed earlier that Apple is working on a temperature monitoring feature, whereas the report by Wall Street Journal suggests that Apple might include this feature in the next generation of smartwatches.
Another online report suggests that Apple is planning to redesign the Apple Watch. The company is said to be planning to replace a key design element that has been there since the very first Apple Watch launched in 2017. According to a report by Patently Apple, the US Patent & Trademark Office has published a new patent this week from Apple. The patent reveals how the company is planning to replace the Digital Crown on its smartwatch with optical sensors. The report further suggests that the sensors will be able to identify the user gestures.
