Android: Four reasons why Android users may be shifting to iPhones – Times of India

The smartphone world has been divided in two — those who use Android and those who use the iPhone. Apple in the last couple of years has made several efforts to make Android users shift to its side. Apple calls them “switchers” and has often mentioned that the number has been going up. Now, a report claims the four big reasons why Android users have been shifting to iOS.
“The reasons are diverse and confusing, and for some buyers they include the desire to use iMessage and FaceTime among family and friends,” notes a report CIRP. The rate of those shifting to iOS has ranged 10-15% over the past several years “and increased a bit in the past several quarters,” claims the report

Why the shift to iPhone?

The report further notes that there are four possible reasons for Android users to shift to iPhone and they are:
Prior phone problems
According to CIRP, several users mentioned that they made the shift as “their old phone did not serve them, because it was aging, needed repair, or had some deficiency that affected their user experience.”
New phone features in the iPhone
Some users said that they wanted more and different ways to use their smartphone. The features that tempted them to make the shift included a better camera, enhanced accessory options, or a more intuitive user interface.
The cost factor
The iPhone is expensive but in the long-run does offer quite a lot of value. Users, as per CIRP, said they could spend less on a new iPhone than they expected or than on a comparable Android smartphone
The blue bubble
Being in the Apple ecosystem or even having just the iPhone gets you into iMessage and FaceTime. According to the report, users said they wanted a smartphone that integrates with family and friends, including using iMessage and FaceTime on iOS.
The report also says that some users could not articulate why they made the change – they just “wanted something new”.
