Amit Shah highlights road map for amicable solution for eastern Nagaland

Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) stated that Union Home minister Amit Shah highlighted a clear road-map for amicable, legislative and sustainable solution for Eastern Nagaland which will include consultation with the people of Eastern Nagaland and State Government.

Shah is likely to visit Eastern Nagaland by January next year. A delegation of ENPO met the Home minister in New Delhi on Tuesday.

ENPO stated that it takes the privilege to inform the meeting with the Union Home Minister on Tuesday at his Official Residence along with Phangnon Konyak, MP Rajya Sabha, Secretary MHA, Director IB, Additional Secretary MHA (NE) and Advisor Northeast was very successful.

The ENPO is grateful to the Union Home Minister for his concern and granting ample time to the ENPO team. It is to be stated that the Union Home Minister had appreciated the Eastern people for being a part of the nation building thus far, which Prime Minister Narendra Modiji is also aware of, he stated.
ENPO stated, “Union Home Minister stated that the grievances and requests for separate entities are understood. Further Union Home Minister highlighted a clear road-map for amicable, legislative and sustainable solution for Eastern Nagaland. Which will include consultation with the people of Eastern Nagaland and Nagaland State Government. Union Home Minister has also assured to visit Eastern

Nagaland personally by January 2023; for which, the ENPO eagerly awaits his visit”.

A delegation of ENPO was likely to meet the Union Home Minister on December 3 in New Delhi however it was postponed.

Firm on its demand of the creation of Eastern Nagaland seven tribes of the area not to participate in the ongoing Hornbill Festival.

Seven tribes of Eastern Nagaland, Chang, Khiamniungan, Konyak, Phom, Tikhir, Sangtam and Yimkhiung are spread across six districts.

On Separate state demand Nagaland cabinet has recently resolved whenever Nagaland Legislative Assembly session was convened, legislators and members of Eastern Nagaland Legislators’ Union (ENLU), if and when they desired to discuss, may move accordingly and the issue would be deliberated threadbare.
