Aishwarya Rai Bachchan takes a dig at Alia Bhatt’s ‘privileges’ in old viral video; Trolls say ‘wonder what she’ll say about her hubby’ – Times of India

In the clip, Aishwarya had said, “I have said this to her also, ‘It’s fantastic for you’. The kind of support Karan (Johar) has given to her from the beginning, and to have that kind of an establishment with you is very comforting because you know it is not tough. You can have it all laid out for the longest time. And she smiled. It’s great where you as an actor know there are only good opportunities ahead.”

She had added, “But what’s nice is she is also doing good work, along with great opportunities which are there literally on her lap, regularly.”

The clip has got social media debating on whether or not this was a jibe at the actress, or simply Ash ‘stating the facts’. “She is spitting facts,” wrote a fan.

Another said, “Brave for her to say it in a more diplomatic manner. I like it!”

“She trolled Alia positively,” said another.

However, there were many others who came to Alia’s defence and trolled Aishwarya for being ‘jealous’ of the actress’ success. Others took digs at her husband, Abhishek Bachchan, claiming that “he got opportunities on a platter regularly since two decades!! but could never become a star like Alia Bhatt (critically acclaimed nd box office star) Stop being jealous of her!!!”

A Twitter user commented, “Even if someone gets the best opportunities not everyone can act n make a mark for themselves. Like her husband who got the best kind of opportunities but still he’s not a hit star even after 20 yrs. Alia is the most talented actress n her work speaks volumes.”

“I think she’s conveniently forgotten the “opportunities” on her lap when she was @SanjayLeelaB muse!! Opportunities can only mean so much,” said another.

“Babe ur husband too got the best of opportunities but u know where he stands in the industry…” said another.

Another said, “This is a case of, when you point a finger at someone to diminish their talent & hardwork, you point aleast 3 back at yourself, in ash’s case she married a Nepokid, who was given opportunities over & over, even flops after flop, while raising a potential nepokid. Pple in glass houses.”

On the work front, Ash will be seen in ‘Ponniyin Selvan 2’, a sequel to Mani Ratnam’s Tamil film that is slated for an April release.
