Aditya Narayan hopes Naatu Naatu’s big win at Golden Globe Awards will encourage music fraternity to churn out more originals than remakes – Exclusive – Times of India

SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus RRR has added another feather in the hat while continuing its unending glory globally. The upbeat and energetic Naatu Naatu track from RRR has bagged the Best Original Song award at the Golden Globes 2023, making the entire nation groove to its beats. Singer and TV host Aditya Narayan has extended his warm wishes to the RRR team and expressed his happiness that Naatu Naatu won the coveted title.
“I am extremely happy that Naatu Naatu has won the Best Original song at the Golden Globe Awards 2023. It is very well deserved and congratulations to MM Keeravaani, SS Rajamouli and the entire RRR team. RRR was a supremely entertaining, quintessential theatrical experience for me, I had a blast watching RRR in the theatre. Naatu Naatu was one of the high points of the movie, along with the scene where a caged Jr NTR gets unleashed with other wild animals,” Aditya told ETimes.

He continued, “I think the relationship and the brotherhood between Jr NTR and Ram Charan was portrayed beautifully. It’s great to see a film like RRR and its soundtrack has received so much love from all over the world and certainly the whole world is looking at India. Moments like these make the country proud and very happy. That being said, I also believe that India is a self-sufficient country. It is enough of a validation for the art that we make, be it music or films, in our country.”

“It is very encouraging to be recognised on a global platform and what I am happiest about is that Naatu Naatu won as Naatu Naatu and not some dubbed dance song. It is amazing that people have enjoyed the song for what it is in the language that it was meant to be,” he added.

When we asked Aditya if Naatu Naatu’s big win would encourage music directors, singers and music labels to come up with more originals than remixes and recreations, he told us, “It should! It’s not so much the remakes as much as the ratio that they are being churned out in. I am positive no one will complain with a 90/10 ratio. It’s way more than which takes away the novelty.”
