Adipurush row: Supreme Court refuses to hear urgent plea challenging the Allahabad High Court order seeking the makers personal presence | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

The Supreme Court on Wednesday refused to hear an urgent plea against an order by the Allahabad High Court seeking the personal presence of the makers of Adipurush before the court on July 27. The apex will now hear the case on July 13.
Earlier in the day, the producers of Adipurush moved the Supreme Court to challenge the Allahabad High Court order passed by Lucknow Bench of Justices Rajesh Singh Chauhan and Shree Prakash Singh on June 30 in public interest litigation (PIL) petitions calling for a ban on the film.
The court had ordered Adipurush director Om Raut, producer Bhushan Kumar, and dialogue writer Manoj Muntashir to appear before it on July 27. It had also asked the central government to form a five-member committee to look at the controversies surrounding the movie. The court had also slammed the censor board asking them what do they want to teach the future generations. The plea had stated that the characters of Ravana and Lord Hanuman in the Om Raut directorial were ‘completely divorced from the Indian civilisation’. It also objected to the dialogues and termed them ‘ridiculous’, ‘low standard’ and ‘cheap’.
A few days ago, Adipurush dialogue writer Manoj Muntashir Shukla extended his unconditional apology for hurting people’s emotions. “I accept that people’s emotions have been hurt by ‘Adipurush’. With folded hands, I extend my unconditional apology. May Prabhu Bajrang Bali keep us united and grant us strength to serve our sacred Sanatan and our great nation,” he wrote on Twitter.
His apology came three weeks after Adipurush was released in theatre and earned over Rs 450 crore worldwide. The box office collections went significantly down after the opening weekend.
