The longtime St. Louis Blues winger was traded to the New York Rangers before this year’s trade deadline as he wrapped up an eight-year, $60-million deal.
The four-time All-Star had a combined 18 goals and 32 assists for 50 points in 67 games with the Blues and Rangers this season. He added three goals and an assist in seven playoff games.
“Vladimir’s a natural goal scorer,” said Senators general manager Pierre Dorion in the team’s news release. “He’s a dynamic player who can score from anywhere in the offensive zone, as well as an underrated playmaker who’s made a career out of driving offence for he and his linemates. An established performer in the regular season and in the playoffs, we’re thrilled to add a player of his calibre to our lineup.”

Tarasenko, who helped the Blues win the Stanley Cup in 2019, has 270 goals and 304 assists for 574 points in 675 career games for St. Louis and the Rangers. He has scored at least 30 goals in six of his 11 seasons.
The 31-year-old Russian was selected 16th overall by the Blues in the 2010 NHL Draft.
