‘Zwigato’ box office collection day 2: The Kapil Sharma starrer continues to remain dull on Saturday – Times of India

Kapil Sharma starrer ‘Zwigato’ directed by Nandita Das released on Friday along with Rani Mukerji starrer ‘Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway’ and ‘Kabzaa’. While the film got decent reviews and was in news due to Kapil’s name attached to it, that hasn’t really translated at the box-office.
‘Zwigato’ collected around 20 lakhs nett on Friday while the Saturday business was slightly better than that with around 35 lakhs, as per boxoifficeindia.com. In two days, the film has managed to collect around 55 lakhs nett. The business of the film will have to see a miraculous jump on Sunday for it to have a slightly respectable weekend, because the numbers of the first two days are quite low.
The Kapil Sharma starrer faced competition from ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’ and also ‘Mrs Chaterjee Vs Norway’. The latter has performed well in Kolkata due to Rani Mukerji. The film’s collection has doubled up on Saturday. It collected around 2.50 crore nett and that took the two-day total of this film to 3.75 crore.

The rise in the Saturday numbers of ‘Mrs Chattejee Vs Norway’ gives hope that it will hold up well even in the coming days. It set an opening day record in Norway as it collected double than movies like ‘Padmavat’ and ‘Pathaan’.
The Sunday numbers will further decide the fate of these films, but for now, ‘Zwigato’ is certain lacking behind ‘Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway’.
