Zoya Akhtar opens up on travelling to Brazil with ‘The Archies’ cast, reveals she isn’t the crew’s ‘principal’ | Hindi Movie News – Times of India
The cast of the movie performed effortlessly on a song, ‘this is my story, suno’, from the movie, on stage.
When quizzed what would have happened if one of the newbies fumbled during the event, Zoya told a leading entertainment portal that the ‘kids’ had rehearsed for months for the same and they were fine.
Zoya also opened up on the crew’s journey in the movie and said that they have worked really hard for the same. Elaborating, the filmmaker said that the young guns went through a lot of screen tests to start off with. What followed was a proper ‘boot camp’ over six months—acting workshops, with three-four different people, dance lessons with Bosco Caesar, practicing cycling and skating etc.
Zoya also said that contrary to what people believe, she isn’t the group’s ‘principal’ or chaperone. She further added that while the cast might be young adults, they are still adults, who are doing their own thing. Zoya also added that since this is her first period movie and her maiden adaptation of a classic comic, she is, in a way, re-debuting with the crew.
The Archies, starring Agastya Nanda, Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor, Vedang Raina and others will premiere on a leading OTT channel this year.
