YouTube transcription feature for videos launched by Google
Google is bringing the YouTube transcript feature for videos on the app. If you haven’t got it yet, then it may be coming soon.
Your YouTube is going to change! Recently, YouTube shared its roadmap for this year 2022, which revealed several new features. Including a collaborative live-streaming feature that will allow Youtube creators to go live together and have more interactive sessions with their audience. But right now, there is something that will upgrade the video consumption experience on your YouTube app. Well, you must have used it before while browsing YouTube on the web, but now Google has introduced its transcription feature for the YouTube app users.
The YouTube transcript feature will be a handy tool, especially in the case of long-hour videos, which makes it difficult to find a particular quote or section of the video. Now the automatically generated transcript of the video will make it easier to search for your favourite quote or dialogue from the video. Till now, YouTube users had to use the desktop site on a browser to check the whole transcription. Now, with the transcription feature in YouTube app, you will get a “Show Transcript” button below the video. Here’s how it will work.
How YouTube transcription feature works
The YouTube video transcription feature allows users to read the content that a speaker or person is saying in the video, it can be dialogues, speech, songs, etc. Once you access an already uploaded video on YouTube, then all you need to do is to tap on the ‘Show Transcript’ option which will be available below the YouTube video. And, all the transcript files will appear below the video. Well, it looks similar to the transcript feature of the YouTube website on a desktop, just updated for the Android users on their device. With this feature, the YouTube app users can easily scroll through to the transcript while enjoying the video and can read along with the text with the direct jump to that particular part of the video.
Though you need to note here that the new transcript feature is a server-side update, hence, there is a chance that you haven’t got this feature yet on your YouTube App. That means you will have to wait a little longer to receive it.
