You’ll Want to Live in the Feel-Good Stretchy Knits Made by This Alum of The Row
Made in Italy from custom combinations of French lycra and Italian cotton (a shine-free alternative to the viscose often found in stretch pieces), High Sport’s head-to-toe lineup consists of a waffle tee, a tailored coat, a sharp jacket, a raglan sweater, midi skirt, and kick pants—all of which are free of unnecessary hardware and, most impressively, never need be ironed or steamed; they can even be thrown into the washing machine on a low cycle, Zachary notes.
Though the debut collection is currently available in only three stores (Aspen’s Nuages, Los Angeles’s Just One Eye, and Newport Beach’s A’maree’s), it’s already lighting up Instagram feeds. Zachary’s decade in the business helps, and so do Tanya and Zhenya Posternak’s photographs of High Sport’s bright wardrobe heroes, which arrive in pops of cerulean, lavender, lemon, and shocking pink. “The part of fashion that I never really related to was the moody exclusive glamour element,” Zachary says, adding that, down the line, she’ll introduce more feel-good colors and evolve—not reinvent—her easy-going designs with a new stitch, say, or a tweaked silhouette.
But don’t expect her to stray from her hard-earned fabric formula: “By focusing, I can send a really clear message to the customer about who we are and what we deliver and therefore be reliable on an ongoing basis.” Zachary cites Issey Miyake’s signature pleats as an eternal source of inspiration. “I want to be the expert in this category.” She’s well on her way.
High Sport’s color range includes cerulean, lavender, lemon, and shocking pink.
