Yami Gautam makes shocking confession, she was once advised to go under the knife – Times of India

Yami Gautam Dhar is currently basking in the success of her heist film Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga. The actress has been part of the industry for more than a decade now, having started her career with Vicky Donor alongside Ayushmann Khurrana. Yami recently revealed that when an actress is new in the business and without any godfather, everyone tries to become a guide to help the actress traverse the allays. She said, “Though some might be genuinely interested in helping you out by offering you good advice, while some can be as outlandish as getting a face surgery done.”

Talking about one such crazy advice to a news portal, Yami stated that she was advised to get a nose job done, as she has a nose which is shaped like a pakora, but she flatly refused to go under the knife.
She also added that she is baffled by people’s obsession of fitting an actress into a certain beauty standard and suggesting surgeries so they can look a certain way and fit in. According to Yami, young actresses are advised to do so, which in turn will get them more work opportunities. Yami feels disappointed that many young girls end up taking this advice seriously. She also rues the fact that no one talks about what would happen if things go wrong.

In the end it is the choice of the person if they want to go under the knife or not and no one should be judged for it, she stated.
