Writer Kanika Dhillon is known for movies like ‘Manmarziyaan‘ and ‘Haseen Dilruba’. The writer has now turned producer and has collaborated with Kriti Sanon’s production house for her first film ‘Do Patti‘. Kriti also has just launched her production house.
‘Do Patti’ shall also star Kriti along with the supremely talented Kajol. Kanika revealed in a chat recently how she got these two actresses on board.Dhillon said in an interview with Mid-day that she was in touch with Kriti way before she finalised the script. That’s how she has functioned in her last three-four films. Kanika loves to reach out to actors before she finishes writing the story so that she can write as per the actor’s strength. But Kriti was so impressed with the story that she didn’t just come on board as an actor but also decided to co-produce the movie with Kanika.
However, Kanika was apprehensive about getting a nod from Kajol. Most people thought that this wouldn’t work out. However, Kanika told herself to be ambitious and unafraid. She went ahead to narrate the story to Kajol, who also loved it and instantly came on board.
The writer-turned-producer aims at bringing more women to the forefront. She’s been hiring more women in her production house, even as executive producers.
