WR Allen Lazard signs with the Jets on four-year, $44million as trade for Aaron Rodgers looms
Packers wide receiver Allen Lazard ‘signs with the Jets on four-year, $44million deal, completing one of four targets on Aaron Rodgers wish list
The New York Jets have signed free agent wide receiver Allen Lazard to a four-year, $44million deal, completing the acquisition of one of four targets on Aaron Rodgers’ wish list to come to the Big Apple.
Lazard, 27, is set to earn $22million in guaranteed money, as part of his new deal’s structure. The ex-Packers and Jaguars receiver came off his best season in Green Bay with a career-high 60 receptions for 788 yards and 15 touchdowns.
‘This deal should also get things to the finish line with Aaron Rodgers and the Jets,’ tweeted Jordan Schultz, of theScore, on Tuesday afternoon.
Lazard was one of three wide receivers that Rodgers wanted in New York, along with Randall Cobb, of the Packers, and free agent Odell Beckham Jr., who hasn’t made a league appearance since Super Bowl LVI with the Los Angeles Rams.
‘(Lazard) is a close friend of Aaron Rodgers and has been in touch with Rodgers recently. Much like everybody else, Allen Lazard is waiting to see what Aaron Rodgers is going to do,’ NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo said on Monday.

‘He’s got to make the call for his future and a long-term deal, potentially. He’d love to continue to play with Rodgers, potentially, if it lines up.’
Another unnamed NFL team was also contending to sign Lazard, who had 169 catches in five seasons during his time on the Packers.
