Wozniak: What Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak has to say about AI – Times of India
Steve Wozniak talks about AI
Computer systems that can do tasks that normally need human intelligence come under AI. Such systems include chatbots that can understand questions and respond with human-like answers. It also includes systems that can recognise objects in pictures.
In the interview, Wozniak discussed both the benefits and his concerns regarding AI. He said, “AI is so intelligent it’s open to the bad players, the ones that want to trick you about who they are.”
Wozniak believes AI won’t replace humans
Wozniak claimed that AI lacks emotions so it won’t be able to entirely replace humans anytime soon. However, he warned that such technology will make hackers and cyberattackers more convinvicng as models like ChatGPT can create text which “sounds so intelligent”.
He also added, “A human really has to take the responsibility for what is generated by AI.” he believes that anything generated by AI which is shared with the public, the responsibility should be with the person publishing it.
Wozniak also wants strict regulation related to AI and major tech firms that “feel they can kind of get away with anything” should be held accountable. He added, “I think the forces that drive for money usually win out, which is sort of sad.” Wozniak added that “we can’t stop the technology”, but users should be better educated to detect frauds and malicious attempts to breach personal data.
Last week, Apple current CEO Tim Cook told investors that it was important to be “deliberate and thoughtful” in how to approach AI. Cook noted, “We view AI as huge, and we’ll continue weaving it in our products on a very thoughtful basis.”
