Socceroos hero Jackson Irvine leaves ABC host Tony Armstrong in stitches as he makes a VERY rude remark while revealing how he’ll celebrate Australia’s win over Denmark: ‘I forgot I was on live TV!’
Graham Arnold insisted his stars won’t be celebrating their win over Denmark and Socceroos hero Jackson Irvine echoed that message on morning TV, but his delivery was slightly off-beat compared to his manager.
The midfielder appeared on News Breakfast in the aftermath of Australia’s historic win over the Danes, which sealed their place in the last-16 of the World Cup for the first time since 2016.
With many fans and pundits writing off the Socceroos chances before a ball was kicked, there incredible group stage performance certainly warrants huge celebrations, but the Australia squad are remaining grounded.

Speaking to Tony Armstrong after the win over Denmark, Irvine said he won’t be celebrating
After leaving Armstrong in stitches, Socceroos hero Irvine said: ‘I need an ice bath now, I’m sweating!’
Arnold said after the game: ‘No celebrations, no emotion, sleep, no social media,’ and, speaking to Tony Armstrong, Irvine sought to strike the same tone but got it hilariously wrong.
‘At the moment there won’t be much enjoying going on, I’ll be going straight down to start my recovery,’ he said.
‘Ice baths?’ Armstrong asked.
‘Yeah literally, just freeze my balls off for a bit, that’s the way to enjoy it.
‘No just full focus on the next one, there’ll be a time to reflect… sorry I forgot I am live as well!

‘There’ll be time to enjoy it at the end of the tournament but we’ll just focus on the next one.’
With Armstrong laughing in the background, Irvine added: ‘I need one [ice bath] now, I’m sweating!’
Reflecting on Australia’s titanic performance, coach Arnold said: ‘I’m just so proud of the effort by the boys,’ he said.
‘[It was] A short turnaround [from the game against Tunisia], but their effort was incredible. A lot of belief. A lot of hard work.
‘These boys came in with a great mindset. We’ve been working on this for four-and-a-half years, and I could see in their eyes they were ready tonight.’
A ‘proud and exhausted’ Leckie struck a similar tone.
‘It’s hard to put into, or to describe the emotions right now. We always knew we could do it.
‘We believed as a group. We had our doubters. With our spirit, our belief, our work ethic and how close we are, it shows on the pitch.’
