World Cup 2022: The ‘Curse of ITV’ strikes AGAIN
The ‘Curse of ITV’ strikes AGAIN: Three Lions fans blame England’s FOURTEENTH World Cup defeat in 20 years on ‘jinxed’ channel… ‘because it wasn’t aired on the BBC’
Bitter England fans blamed the so-called ‘curse of ITV‘ on the Three Lions’ defeat to France after the team crashed out of the World Cup quarter-final on the ‘jinxed’ channel.
England lost to France 1-2 today in the squad’s fourteenth World Cup defeat in 20 years on ITV.
Now, outraged fans have taken to Twitter to demand officials ban future matches from being screened live on the commercial television network.
The Three Lions have an appalling record when their matches are screened live on ITV. Since 1998, England have won just three of their 17 World Cup matches aired on the network – compared with an astounding 12 out of 16 on the BBC.

England suffered another World Cup heartbreak today as captain Harry Kane’s spot-kick miss saw the Three Lions defeated 2-1 by France in their quarter-final tie.
The loss has prompted a slew of outrage online as many fans argue the Three Lions may have come out victorious had the match been aired on BBC.
‘Anyway the curse of ITV continues,’ tweeted Stuart Norris.
‘Curse of ITV strikes again. In future, can we just let BBC broadcast the games?’ echoed another fan.
Dean Ayass noted: ‘All I’m saying is that when @Lionesses won Euro 2022, every single game they played was shown live on the BBC.’
‘The curse of ITV strikes again. I’d happily have major tournaments on premier sports to stop those guys having it again,’ added another England supporter.
Twitter user @KennyB36 used ITV as a scapegoat and shifted the blame of tonight’s loss off captain Harry Kane, saying: ‘Harry it’s not your fault it’s the ITV curse.’
‘I blame #ITVFootball for losing that game,’ added Tom Jebb. ‘Game should of been played on BBC! The curse of ITV football continues…’
