Wordle answer too tough? CLONES are back on App Store, Google Play Store!

Finding the Wordle answer getting too tough or boring? Well, Wordle clones are back and they can be downloaded from Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Wordle has become an extremely popular game within no time at all. In fact, it has taken the internet by storm with people sharing their Wordle scores on social media. It is all very competitive in a good-natured way and Wordle users can be seen proudly touting their achievements. However, this increasing popularity has led to several Wordle clones being created and the same are available on various app stores. These Wordle clones look exactly the same. Notably, Apple had earlier wiped out nearly all the Wordle clones in January, but again, a number of imitators like, Wordus, Wordl etc have sprung up on the App store again. Amazingly, the original Wordle app isn’t even on the App Store.

None of these new games are actively passing themselves off as Wordle name but all of them offer some variant on Wordle’s gameplay, down to the same UI, design, and color scheme.

However, the Apple App Store guidelines clearly state that no copies of other games will be allowed. In section 4.1 of its App Store Guidelines, the company suggests developers to “Come up with your own ideas” and not to “simply copy the latest popular app on the App Store, or make some minor changes to another app’s name or UI and pass it off as your own.”

The copies of Wordle have created a lot of outrage over social media sites by saying that greedy developers are trying to make a quick buck off this rare, pure thing on the internet. All these copycats of Wordle have added commercials, non-obligatory in-app purchases, or subscription charges.

However, these Wordle clones are proving to be quite popular. Some of these apps have already been downloaded by over 10 lakh users.

Surprisingly, some of these games offer the exact experience as the viral daily word-puzzle game, while others offer a slightly varied experience with features like no daily limit on words.
