With a Flamenco-Themed Party in Los Angeles, Christian Louboutin Celebrated its Latest Collection
For anyone so lucky to visit the rich land of Andalusia, Spain, a night at one of the region’s authentic tablaos is an imperative immersive experience filled with Flamenco dance and music. On Wednesday night, designer Christian Louboutin, alongside his longtime friend and Spanish actor Rossy de Palma, embraced the country’s vibrant culture in Los Angeles, recreating the electrifying experience of a traditional tablao in celebration of their joint capsule of shoes of handbags, titled Flamencaba (the word “caba” or “cabas” aptly translating to “handbag”).
The capsule, which serves as the brand’s 2023 annual limited edition launch, is a small but artfully designed one; each piece is adorned with intricacies such as silk embroidery and spiked studs that nod to the famed architecture of the Andalusia city, Seville. For the evening, the brand transformed Los Angeles’ Carondelet House with a similar attention to detail; the space was outfitted with floral arrangements and a red velvet draping that evoked the spirit of a pulsing, intimate tablao, and mimicked the aesthetic properties of the anticipated collection.
Reeling in guests such as Avril Lavigne, Zoey Deutch, Diego Boneta, Evan Ross, Tiffany Haddish, Dita Von Teese, and more, the night’s theme made it easy for the event to stand out among the sea of soirées frequented by industry partygoers. While Spanish favorites such as sangria, paellas, and assorted tapas were paraded in an outdoor courtyard, guests also enjoyed Louboutin and Palma’s recreation of a Flamenco show from a trio of dancers alongside a live guitarist. Then, guests danced among themselves to a set by DJ Orange Calderone to close out the night.
