witcher 3: Here’s when The Witcher 3 may come to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S – Times of India

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt just celebrated its seven-year anniversary. On the occasion, CD Projekt Red decided to drop some information regarding the projected timeline of the launch of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt–the most successful game in the entire Witcher saga to date– on the next generation consoles. So, here is some good news and some bad news both.
The good news is that the work is in progress on the title for the next-gen consoles. The bad news is that while the Poland-based developer had planned on bringing the game to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in Q2 2022, now it has postponed the launch to Q4 2022. The transition to the next-gen consoles, it seems, is taking more time than usual.

If it is taking more time than usual then sure, let CD Projekt Red work on the project carefully and take their time for the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S build. Even when The Witcher 3 is kind of old now, it is still popular and in all likelihood, the newer console generation would want to check it out. So, pinning our hopes on that, we would not want the developers to repeat the Cyberpunk 2077 launch story.
Also, the Witcher saga is moving ahead with a new Witcher game already in development with Unreal Engine 5, with CD Projekt Red forging a “strategic” multi-year technology partnership with Epic Games. For now, CD Projekt Red has teased it just as ‘The Witcher’. The upcoming game features a never-before-seen school of professional monster hunters: the School of the Lnyx. Based on just that much information, it is highly likely that the story of the game won’t be focussed on Geralt as he is from the Wolf school. As details are pretty scarce right now, we would have to wait for the time being for more information from the developers.
