Windows 11 is finally getting native support for this ‘important’ feature – Times of India

Microsoft recently announced its next-generation Surface devices and PC accessories at its Fall Surface event. Along with this, the company also showcased a couple of new features for the Windows 11 operating system such as iCloud photos integration, Apple TV+ and Apple Music apps, new gestures for multi-windows and more. Along with this, the company also gave a glimpse at the new screen recording feature for the Snipping Tool.
Now, Windows Snipping Tool has always been a screenshot tool for the operating system and lacked a screen recorder. Microsoft is finally adding this feature to the app. As shown in the presentation at the event, the new Snipping Tool features a redesigned top ribbon with the option to choose the ‘Snip’ and ‘Record’ options.
This means that Windows is finally getting a native screen recorder tool which means, users won’t have to use the Xbox Game Bar or third-party software to record screens on Windows 11. If the comparison is to be done, macOS has been offering relatively better built-in screenshot and screen recording integration. In fact, one feature that’s probably still missing that macOS offers is the ability to automatically save the captured or recorded screenshots or screen recordings, respectively.
Although, the company hasn’t provided any further details about the new Snipping Tool. In fact it hasn’t also been revealed when it will be rolled out to users. Meanwhile, the company has also announced the integration of iCloud photos with Windows 11. The updated Photos app is already available in the Insider Preview Dev Channel for developers to try the new feature.
