Wimbledon tournament 2023 is set to commence on Monday, July 3. One of the notable matches in the first round will feature Andy Murray, a two-time champion, facing fellow Brit Ryan Peniston. Murray, who did not receive a seeding this year, will have to overcome this early challenge. The winner of this match will then face a tough test against either Stefanos Tsitsipas or Dominic Thiem in the subsequent round.
In other matchups, defending champion Novak Djokovic has been paired with Pedro Cachin from Argentina, according to Friday draw. Elena Rybakina from Kazakhstan will defend against American Shelby Rogers.
The ban on Russian and Belarusian players, imposed 12 months ago following the invasion of Ukraine, has now been lifted.
However, there will be some prominent absences. Emma Raducanu, who gained attention in the previous year’s tournament, will not be competing due to undergoing surgery on both her wrists and ankle. Rafael Nadal, dealing with a hip injury, is also not ready to make his return to tennis yet.

Wimbledon 2023 will run from 3 July to 16 July. The Wimbledon main draw will take place on Monday, 3 July while play will take place for 14 consecutive days, including on Middle Sunday, for the second year in a row.
Matches on the outside courts will begin at 11 am BST, while Centre Court and Court One matches will have slightly later start times at 1:30 pm and 1 pm, respectively.

Wimbledon 2023 tickets
Tickets for the Show Courts were available through the Wimbledon Public Ballot, which closed last year. Successful applicants have been notified. For those who did not enter or were unsuccessful in the ballot, tickets can be purchased through the official hospitality provider, Keith Prowse.
Another option is to join the famous Wimbledon queue, where up to 500 tickets for the three Show Courts are available each day. The queue starts early each morning at Wimbledon Park, reported Evening Standard.
