In Wimbledon tennis, Rafael Nadal, Stefano Tsitsipas, Simona Halep and Katie Boulter to play their third-round singles matches today. Rafael Nadal will take on Lorenzo Sonego of Italy for a place in the last 16.

The Spaniard, who is bidding to add the Wimbledon title to his Australian and French Open victories, defeated Lithuania’s Ricardas Berankis 6-4, 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 on Thursday.

In another match, A. De Minaur of Australia will compete against L. Broady of Britain. Another Australian N. Kyrgios will take on S. Tsitsipas of Greece.

In Women’s singles, C. Gauff of USA to take on her compatriot A. Anisimova and I. Swiatek of Poland to compete against A. Cornet of France.

In another match, K. Boulter of Britain will take on H. Tan of France. A. Tomljanovic of Australia will take on B. Krejcikova Czec Republic. M. Frech of Poland will play against S. Halep of Romania.

Yesterday, India’s ace Sania Mirza, who is making her final Wimbledon appearance and Mate Pavic advanced to the second round of mixed doubles event with a hard-fought win over David Vega Hernandez and Natela Dzalamidze.

The Indo-Croatian duo won 6-4 3-6, 7-6(3) in the first-round match. Mirza, who has already announced her retirement at the end of this season, and her Czech partner Lucie Hradecka had earlier lost in the opening round of women’s doubles event.

The 35-year-old Indian had won her maiden doubles title alongside Martina Hingis, back in 2015.
