Will The Chhello Show make the cut in the Best International Feature Film category in Oscars? – Times of India

Speaking to ETimes, a jury member said, “The first shortlisting for international category will happen today evening which has The Chhello Show in the foreign films category, but the fate of RRR will be known in January when the main nominations are announced.”

SS Rajamouli’s RRR has entered the Oscar race in the main category. The makers of both the films have been campaigning for their films in the US with The Chhello Show releasing in the first week of December. SS Rajamouli is leaving no stone unturned to promote the biggest Indian blockbuster which is in the Oscar race.

Trade experts believe it is going to be tough for The Chhello Show, but RRR has a chance in the song category. Film critic Aseem Chhabra said, “I don’t think The Last Picture Show will make the shortlist for the Best International Feature Film as there is very strong competition. RRR should definitely make it to the list for the song. If there is a miracle it could also get in the list for editing. And maybe direction.”
