Will Ferrell is snapped enjoying a pint in Wrexham before making his way onto the Racecourse ground
Will Ferrell is snapped enjoying a pint in a Wrexham pub ahead of their National League win over Wealdstone… before the Hollywood superstar makes his way to the Racecourse ground for a look behind the scenes
Hollywood icon Will Ferrell has been spotted enjoying a pint in Wrexham ahead of their National League clash with Wealdstone.
The Welsh club – owned by actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney – were visited by another famous face from across the Atlantic on Saturday, with the ‘massive football fan’ Ferrell popping into the local pub, The Turf.
The Turf featured heavily in the celebrity duo’s documentary of the early stages of their ownership of the club, and is believed to be the site on which Wrexham FC were initially formed.
Ferrell was snapped sitting around a table with several locals, as well as the owner Wayne Jones prior to the match.
But it would seem that the 55-year-old wanted an even closer look at the now famous ground, and was then filmed on the field just half an hour later.

A local was quick to capture the surreal moment that they saw the movie star in their local pub, and posted the picture with the caption: ‘Just Will Ferrell having a pint in the Turf.’
The 55-year-old then sent a message out to all the club’s 370,000 followers on Twitter after taking control of a camera and recording a video of himself on the pitch.
The comic actor teased supporters by pretending to ‘fix my hair’ in front of the camera for almost 20 seconds, before holding the lens right up close to his face.
‘Hi, it’s Will Ferrell, and this is my first time here – where are we again? Wrexham!’ he jokes.
He cut a casual figure in black jeans and a green T-shirt, which he styled with a hoodie and a black padded jacket

‘I’m just really excited to see the match, I’ll be honest with you, I’m a little nervous!’ he continues, before staring into the lens and walking off.
Speaking back in early 2022, Reynolds appeared on BBC’s The One Show and was asked about rumours that Ferrell was keen on making the trip over to Wales and have visiting the club.
And as well as revealing that the Hollywood superstar was a big football fan, Reynolds hinted at a potential ‘pub crawl’ with Ferrell.
‘Will’s a massive football fan. He has a piece of the LA club, LAFC, and he’d love to come out to Wrexham. I’d love to bring him here.
The Hollywood superstar has previously attended games with Ryan Reynolds, such as the FA Trophy final at Wembley in 2022
‘I think he’d be blown away by the stadium – the Racecourse ground is one of the oldest international stadiums on earth, and certainly the club Wrexham FC is one fo the oldest on earth.
‘He’s pretty enamoured by history, and also – he’s Will Ferrell! How much fun would it be to have a wander around on a little pub crawl throughout Wrexham with Will Ferrell?’
And it would seem that those fans were treated to almost exactly that on Saturday afternoon.
The club’s rise to fame in the football world has been staggering, with the club languishing in the anonymity of non-league football ahead of Reynolds and McElhenney’s purchase.
Wrexham enjoyed a surprising run in the FA Cup, earning a replay in the fourth round with Championship high-fliers Sheffield United after a stunning 3-3 draw at the Racecourse ground.
The Blades ultimately proved too much for the non-league side, winning 3-1 at Bramall Lane to end any hopes of a fifth round foray.
