When Tabu opened up on losing Govinda’s ‘Kunwara’ and Aamir Khan’s ‘Mann’: I had my share of humiliation – Times of India

Tabu who has been in the industry for over three decades, continues to be one of the finest actresses that we have. The audience looks forward to her performances with every new project but even she’s not had it easy. Tabu has opened up about the challenges that she’s faced in the industry, at various instances.
For instance, in an interview with Filmfare in 2001, Tabu had revealed why she lost out on Aamir Khan starrer ‘Mann’ which eventually had Manisha Koirala. Tabu had expressed, “See I would have loved to do a film with Aamir. We even did a photo-shoot together for Mann. I’m clueless about what happened after that, I don’t know what goes on behind the scenes.”

The ‘Astitva’ actress had also confessed that she’s been at the receiving end quite often as manipulations are a part of the game. It happens to every heroine, said Tabu. The actress was also a part of ‘Kunwara’ starring Govinda. Eventually, Urmila Matondkar landed the role. Reacting to it, Tabu had said, “It would have been great fun to do ‘Kunwara’ with Chi Chi. I’ve gone through my share of disappointment and humiliation. But I hold no grudge, they get you nowhere.”
The actress continues to be known for some iconic performances. She was also loved in the recently released ‘Kuttey’, though the film didn’t do well at the box office. Tabu was last seen in ‘Bholaa’. She is set to team up with Ajay Devgn again in Neeraj Pandey’s next ‘Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha’.
