The Louis Vuitton show during Paris Fashion Week is always a star-studded affair, and today’s fall 2022 presentation was no different. In the front row were celebrities like Emma Chamberlain, Gemma Chan, Sophie Turner, and Joe Jonas. Among them was Australian actor Cody Fern—who you likely know from American Horror Story—delivering a standout look.
For the past few seasons now, Fern has brought exceptional looks to Vuitton’s front row. He always delivers ensembles that strike the perfect balance between polished and dramatic. In past seasons, he’s worn a bright-red leather coat with pink rubber boots, or a crystal-covered cape. He just gets it, and totally has fun with it. Today, however, he delivered his boldest fashion week fit yet.
Fern looked like he belonged on the runway in his sheer lace top, black trousers, and long, black tulle cape. Considering it’s fashion week, we’re very much here for the regal, slightly over-the-top ensemble. It’s a continuation of the fashion energy he’s always delivered, though. Back in 2020, he told Vogue that he sees fashion and red carpet dressing as an opportunity to challenge what men are “expected” to wear in Hollywood. “The ‘best dressed’ on the carpet is always somebody who has a very simple black suit, with a very simple black tie, and a very simple black shirt,” he said. “It’s so repetitive and exhausting. The constant message is, like, ‘This is what’s masculine. This is what a man wears.’” His latest look certainly goes against the grain—in the best possible way.
