When could Arsenal fire Mikel Arteta?

After an 0-3 start to the campaign, Arsenal could be getting ready to make a manager change with Mikel Arteta not getting the job done.

The seat could not be any hotter for Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta right now. After losing to Brentford 2-0 to start the season, the Gunners followed that up with a 2-0 home defeat to Chelsea FC at the Emirates Stadium.

As soon as the final whistle arrived in that loss to the Blues, Arsenal fans were calling for Arteta to be sacked. Those passionate screams have only gotten louder. It feels like the end could be coming for the Arteta experiment. With that said, when could the board pull the plug?

Arsenal could end up firing Mikel Arteta in the coming weeks

Unfortunately for Arteta, Arsenal’s next league showdown is against Manchester City this weekend at the Etihad Stadium. City is coming off a 5-0 victory over Norwich City and they’re the odds-on favorites to take down Arsenal.

If that happens, the Gunners would open the season 0-3. The club’s following four games after taking on Manchester City are against Norwich City, Burnley, Tottenham and Brighton. According to The Telegraph, Arsenal’s next five contests could make or break Arteta’s future with the club.

There are several winnable games coming up. However, if Arsenal is smashed by Manchester City and Tottenham, and disappoints in either of the games against Norwich City, Burnley or Brighton, Arteta very well could see himself getting fired.

Last season, Arsenal finished in eighth place of the EPL table with its 61 points. At the end of the campaign, folks all over London wanted Arteta gone. With this miserable start to the season, things have only been made worse. Arteta clearly is losing patience from the board. He needs to turn his team’s play around and fast, otherwise he could be out of a job before you know it.
