WhatsApp status will allow you to upload voice notes; check out the benefits you will get

WhatsApp users will soon be able to upload voice notes on their status in addition to photos and videos. Here’s how it will work.

WhatsApp is on a roll and is looking to add new features and updates at a furious pace. That spells good news for users as they can thereby, improve their experience. Back in 2017, WhatsApp introduced its Status feature for the first time while following the trend of its sister platforms, Facebook and Instagram. Now, in the latest update, WhatsApp is expected to bring a new feature which will allow users to add voice notes on Status updates. The WhatsApp updates tracker, WaBetaInfo reported that WhatsApp is working on offering the ability to post voice notes to status updates along with photo videos or GIFs.

“New improvements for status updates are coming in a future update of WhatsApp beta for Android. Today, thanks to the new WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.16.3 update, we can finally announce that WhatsApp is planning to extend the functionality of status updates by adding the support for voice notes,” the report mentioned in its latest blog. The new feature to share a voice note as a status in the upcoming WhatsApp update may be called “voice status”.

The report also shared a screenshot which suggests that there will be a new icon at the bottom of the status tab page that will show a quick option to let you send a voice note to our status update to the contacts. The report also confirmed that the privacy settings will be the same just like the current options available to share the content on WhatsApp Status. Only the selected contacts in your status privacy settings will be able to check the voice status. Also, it will be end-to-end encrypted like other images and videos shared on WhatsApp status.

Unfortunately, the feature is under development, so there is no confirmation of when it will be released to beta testers. However, WhatsApp recently confirmed to roll out more emoji reactions to the messages in addition to the previously available list of only 6. If you haven’t received the latest feature, then you may need to update your WhatsApp now.
