WhatsApp soon expected to launch iPad version with multi-device 2.0

WhatsApp’s most popular messaging app is set to launch its iPad version, making it easy for iPad users to use the app. As of June 2021, India was the leading country globally in terms of WhatsApp users. About 487 million WhatsApp users in India made WhatsApp the go-to messaging app for many.

However, iPad users were always at a disadvantage when it came to using WhatsApp. The application is not supported on iPad, so users had to choose alternate messaging apps to connect with their loved ones. While users can download other messaging apps on the iPad, they can’t download WhatsApp. Existing iPad users have always demanded WhatsApp accessibility on their devices, and their demands might be met soon.

As per recent reports, WhatsApp, which is owned by Meta, is expected to launch its iPad version in the near future. The app is working on the concept of multi-device 2.0, which would support iPad usage. The feature would allow users to connect their iPads or Android tablets to their existing WhatsApp accounts. Users would be able to log into their WhatsApp accounts from four different devices. However, they would not be able to access their accounts from two different phones at the same time. WhatsApp would allow its users to have their phone as their primary account. Then, they can use the same WhatsApp functions through WhatsApp Web, WhatsApp portal and WhatsApp desktop versions.

The report also stated that WhatsApp is also working on a macOS version to support WhatsApp on Macbooks too. Currently, you can download WhatsApp on your Android and Apple phone from Play Store and Apple Store, respectively. Though iPhones support WhatsApp, the feature is notably absent in iPads.

The launch of the multi-device 2.0 or the macOS version is unknown. However, it is expected to be launched soon.
