WhatsApp forwarding messages feature faces crackdown! You will not be able to do this

WhatsApp forwarding messages feature is facing yet another crackdown. You will no longer be able to forward messages to more than one group chat at a time.

Which app do you use when you have to send messages or share files (images, videos, GIFs, among others) with your friends and family? WhatsApp probably as it is one of most commonly used messaging applications all over the world. When you want to send one message to many people, have you noticed that you can forward it to only 5 chats at a time? Now, as per the latest update, WhatsApp is introducing new limitations when forwarding messages. Taking to its Twitter account WABetaInfo tweeted, “WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.7.2: what’s new? WhatsApp is introducing new limitations when forwarding messages today!”

The WhatsApp forwarding messages feature allows you to forward messages from an individual or group chat to another individual or group chat. The messages that you forward are indicated with a “Forwarded” label, which helps you to know if your friend or family member wrote the message they sent or if the message originally came from someone else. However, when a message is forwarded through a chain of five or more chats, that is the message is at least five forwards away from its original sender, a double arrow icon and “Forwarded many times” label will be displayed.

As per the latest information provided by WABetaInfo, when a message is marked as forwarded, it’s no longer possible to forward it to more than one group chat at a time. If you need to forward this message to more than one group chat, you need to select the message and forward it again. It can be noted that the new limitation takes effect even when the message is forwarded once, so it’s different from the previous limitation. It is definitely going to spoil the WhatsApp experience for many users, however, it is being done to provide a safer environment for all users and ensure fake news does not spread easily.

Apart from this WhatsApp is also working on end-to-end indicators for the chats list section, for a future update of the app. WABetaInfo has informed three months ago that WhatsApp is developing a feature to inform users that their status updates and calls are end-to-end encrypted. And now it is being said that the messaging application is also planning to add a footer containing this information below your chats, on a future update of WhatsApp Desktop beta.
