WhatsApp is reportedly working to add more emoji to react to messages for iPhone users. Currently, it has only six emoji reactions.

Instant messaging app WhatsApp is reportedly working on more emoji reactions for iPhone users to react to messages. The new feature is an expansion of WhatsApp reactions that were introduced in May 2022 for iPhone users. Once this feature is rolled out, iPhone users on WhatsApp will get more emojis to react to a message. The new development has been reported by WhatsApp beta tracker WABetaInfo. The new feature will be seen in the new update submitted by the app through the TestFlight beta Program. The instant messaging app will bring the 22.13.0.74 version.

Dubbed as More emojis – Message Reactions will be available in the WhatsApp message menu. WABetaInfo has shared the screengrab of the same which shows a draggable section where users will be able to select and search for any emoji they want to use for reacting to the message! In addition, they will also find a row dedicated to the recently chosen reactions in the same section. As reported by MySMartPrice, users will be able to access more emojis to react to a message by long-pressing on the message they want to react to in the app. As they long press a text, six suggested reaction emojis will show up along with a “+” icon. The users will further need to tap on the plus icon to open up all the emoji options including the emoji search bar.

Not only individual chats but WhatsApp group users too will be able to react to messages and see who has reacted to which messages in the group.

Currently, the feature is underdevelopment and the exact details on message reactions will be made available soon.

Meanwhile, the messaging app is also working on a feature that will allow users to keep messages in disappearing chats. Once this feature is rolled out, WhatsApp users will be allowed to save messages even if the disappearing messages feature is enabled. All the saved messages can be found in a new section right within contact info and group info.
